          REFLECTIONS:

          Experience:
This semester's study has brought about a fundamental change in my understanding of fonts. From the initial intuitive operation to the gradual mastery of design principles and typesetting logic, my understanding of fonts is no longer as simple as "good-looking" or "aligned". Through several phased tasks, I gradually established a way of thinking about font design: how to organize text, how to make the content rhythmic, and how to balance visual appeal and information communication. I am particularly grateful to Mr. Max for his guidance and suggestions throughout the process - he always points out key technical issues while we are free to create. This course not only improves my design ability, but also makes me realize that behind creativity is a solid structure and specification.

          Observation:
In the process of continuous practice and correction, I gradually realized that font design is a job that relies heavily on observation. Slight differences in detail processing often bring completely different visual experiences. Sometimes just a little more spacing between letters will make the entire line of text look fragmented; and the smoothness of a curve may also determine the refinement of the font. This sensitivity to details is something I have been constantly training in this course, and it has also taught me to be more patient and precise in treating each design choice.

          Findings:
Looking back on the whole process, I also clearly saw some of my shortcomings in the innovation of some fonts. Although I can master the basic layout structure, I still need more accumulation and attempts in how to make the font express a more unique personality. Through this course, I realized that fonts are not only the shell of text, but also a tool for conveying emotions and shaping atmosphere. In the future, I plan to study more about the layout forms in daily media, such as books, magazines, etc., to improve my comprehensive ability in layout, font style selection and visual guidance.
